NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. — North Attleborough police are continuing to search for an armed person who carjacked a woman in her driveway Monday afternoon.
The incident was reported around 3 p.m. in the driveway of a home next to Briggs Nursery. The victim, a woman in her 70s, owns the nursery with her husband.
“When you’re our age, you get a little nervous,” Paul Briggs, the victim’s husband, said.

She had just returned from grocery shopping and was in the process of removing the bags from her car when a man, armed with a knife and gun, pushed her out of the way and took off in her Jeep.
“I just drove in when it all happened,” Briggs said. “I watched him drive out.”

A short time later the vehicle was spotted near Bishop Feehan High School in Attleboro, and a source told Boston 25 News that the carjacker tried to burn the vehicle.
Our news crew was at the police station when the family was able to retrieve some of their belongings from the vehicle.
“We just picked up the groceries at the police station in the car,” Briggs said.
He told Boston 25 News that his wife was not injured, but is shaken up from the ordeal.
Police in Walpole are looking into whether a car theft in that town is connected to the carjacking in North Attleborough.
A vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of a liquor store in East Walpole, and police told Boston 25 News that an investigation is underway to determine if the events are connected.
Surveillance video from both locations are being investigated.
Police are still searching for the carjacker.
