Search continues for men who pistol-whipped man during Canton home invasion

CANTON, Mass. — Police are actively looking for three men who they said pistol-whipped a 71-year-old man and duct taped his 72-year-old wife during a home invasion in Canton Tuesday.

The 71-year-old victim’s daughter spoke with Boston 25 News and said she fears for her safety after what happened around 11 a.m. Tuesday.

“My father was banging on my door,” she said. “When I went to the door, I saw him bleeding and all cut from everywhere. The head, his whole face was a mess. I started screaming.”

The daughter, who didn’t want to be identified, lives next door at the apartments on Arboretum Way and said her father was pistol-whipped and her mother was duct-taped and forced to stare down the barrel of a gun while the three men looked for another relative, who wasn’t there at the time, and demanded money.

The suspects, who the homeowner described as three Hispanic men wearing hoodies, then fled the area in a black Chrysler Pacifica, with a fourth person driving.

The homeowner was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries but has since been released. His wife remained at the hospital overnight because of a heart condition.

"I'm just glad that he's well, alive and nothing major happened," the man's daughter said.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police.
