MILFORD, Mass. — Milford police are continuing their search for a car that ran over a little boy Sunday, leaving him for dead in the street.
The tragic incident was reported after 4 p.m. on Water Street.
Family members said Jonathan Loja, 4, was playing with a yo-yo when he was hit. Police first said Jonathan had suffered life-threatening injuries, but later confirmed that the boy died.
Milford police, Massachusetts State Police and an Air Wing immediately began to look for the vehicle and driver, but as of Monday morning the vehicle has not been located.

Police said they are looking for a red Scion XB 2nd generation, possibly with damage to its right front area. The vehicle also has black wheels and tinted windows.
Investigators said that the color of the vehicle is a special edition and there aren’t many versions of it, so anyone who spots the vehicle is asked to call police right away.
