School bus catches fire while students enjoy Sox game at Fenway

BOSTON — A bus that brought a group of Fitchburg State University students to Fenway Park for the Boston Red Sox game will not be taking them home after it burst into flames.

Witnesses say the bus driver was walking down the sidewalk away when he noticed the engine smoking.

Within minutes, flames had engulfed the front of the bus.

The students were still inside Fenway, but many had belongings on the bus that were salvaged.

The bus driver didn’t want to speak on camera, but said it was a brand new vehicle.
