• Scholarship named in honor of marathon victim

WELLESLEY, Mass. (AP) - MassBay Community College has established a scholarship in memory of Boston Marathon bombing victim Krystle Campbell, a 2005 graduate of the school.

President John O'Donnell and MassBay Foundation Board Chairman James McKenzie announced Wednesday that the scholarship would go to a business major from Massachusetts.

The 29-year-old Campbell earned a degree in business administration from the Wellesley school.

The Medford native and Arlington resident was one of three people killed by the April 15 bombings at the marathon's finish line. She was there to watch a friend finish.

Candidates must be carrying a full course load, and must submit an essay about resiliency, making a difference, generosity of spirit, or overcoming obstacles to achieve a goal.

O'Donnell says the school "lost one of our own on that horrific day."
