Scam alert: Caller with fake name asking for donations for injured Auburn officer

AUBURN, Mass. — Police are warning Auburn residents of a scam making the rounds.

Someone told police that they received a call from an "Officer Riley" who was asking for donations for the Luis Santos' family support fund. The suspicious part is that no "Officer Riley" works for the department -- it's a fake name.

Officer Luis Santos suffered a broken leg and concussion after being hit by an SUV Saturday. Police were chasing the driver down after a burglary when Santos was hit.

Police want you to hang up on anyone who calls asking for donations for Santos. If you'd like to donate to the real fund, here's the information:
