Saugus High School principal absent, unaccounted for since break

SAUGUS (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Parents and students are beginning to wonder what has happened to Saugus High School Principal Joseph Diorio.

Students returned to the high school after the holidays; however, Diorio, who reportedly went to Florida prior to Christmas break, has not yet returned to the school.

According to The Daily Item, rumors have been circulating around town regarding Diorio's whereabouts, but little is being done to put those rumors to rest.

School Committee Chairman Wendy Reed told the newspaper, "I don't know when he's coming back, and I know he hasn't made any kind of statement or communication. As far as I know, he hasn't contacted anyone…"

Reed said it is not school policy to notify parents when staff is out.

The Daily Item attempted to reach Superintendent Richard Langlois and Diorio, but was unable to make contact.
