Sandwich teen returns bags of money found on road

SANDWICH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A 13-year-old Sandwich boy was rewarded for doing the right thing.

Jack Sheehan was walking his dog, Cooper, on Halloween when he saw two bags in the middle of Deer Hollow Road. When he looked closer, he discovered they contained about $1,200.

Sheehan then called his mother who told him to bring it home to make sure it was real. After they verified the cash wasn't fake, they called police.

From there, police were able to track the money back to the owner of the Mashpee Country Store.

The thankful owner gave Sheehan $100 and some candy as a reward. Sheehan said he's still thinking about whether he'll spend it or save it.
