Salisbury man offers cash reward for info about would-be car burglar

SALISBURY, Mass. – A Salisbury man is determined to catch the trespasser captured on video peering into the his and his wife’s cars.

Ron Tony Giordano was alerted to the man lurking on his Rail Avenue property shortly after 3 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The intruder’s presence set off a motion senor which activated an alert on Giordano’s phone.

The alert rocked him out of a deep sleep.

He told Boston 25 News he could see a live stream of the surveillance and rushed downstairs to confront the man.

“It’s an adrenaline rush you don’t think about that you think about the safety of your family,” Giordano said.

Giordano says the man had vanished by the time he got outside.

He believes the intruder was casing his property and his family’s vehicles for valuables.

“I hope they catch him before I do,” Ron Tony Giordano said. “You don’t mess with the people of Salisbury Beach.”

Giordano says he’s sick and tired of hearing about people’s cars being broken into in his neighborhood and surrounding communities.

Several neighbors told Boston 25 News that their cars have been broken into in recent weeks, and they’re wondering if it could be the same suspect.

“You’re messing with the wrong people,” said neighbor Michael Rossi. “I wouldn’t come back. Let’s put it that way.”

Giordano called Salisbury Police and turned over his crystal clear footage of the suspect who had been on his property.

“An officer immediately came, and I showed him. He said this is better than any of the video we’ve seen,” explained Giordano.

Salisbury Police Chief Thomas Fowler said his department is now reviewing the footage.

He said he believes it could potentially lead to an arrest if the suspect is identified.

Fowler told Boston 25 News he doesn’t have reason to believe that this incident is part of a larger crime spree. However, Fowler said he would be assigning additional officers to the area to prevent future break-ins.

“I’m willing to take this guy down and hold him down until the police get here,” added Giordano.

Giordano is offering a $500 cash reward out of his pocket to anyone who help police identify the suspect.
