WENHAM, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A man was arrested Friday after allegedly assaulting a woman and kidnapping her daughter.
At about 10:17 p.m., police responded to 40 Topsfield Road for the report of an assault and kidnapping. The initial report said the woman who owned the home was assaulted with a weapon and her daughter was taken.
Wenham Police, State Police, K-9s, a helicopter and State Police Airwing as well as other officers from local departments started searching the area. The girl was found and taken to the hospital for treatment, officials say.
The suspect was found in a storage area underneath a three season room of a home on Burnham Road. Justin Raymond, 23, of Salem was arrested on several charges including threats to commit a crime and armed assault.
The investigation remains ongoing and more charges may be filed.
