ROWLEY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – The fire chief in Rowley has been suspended from duty.
Police confirmed to FOX 25 that Chief James Broderick has been charged with simple assault and battery for allegedly pushing another firefighter at the station last week.
Formal charges are expected to be filed Tuesday.
The men reportedly argued at the station after a fire, but it's still unclear why the chief would have pushed the other firefighter.
Broderick has been the fire chief since 1997.
