Rob Gronkowski joins Emerson College class

BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski helped an Emerson College social media class successfully complete an assignment on Thursday.

The class was able to convince Gronkowski to teach a class at their school after beginning a social media campaign targeting both Gronk and movie star Mark Wahlberg as potential guest speakers.

Each semester, Professor David Gerzof has his students contact a celebrity with local ties via Twitter in hopes of persuading them to appear in the class. The tradition began in the fall of 2011 when former Patriots wide receiver Chad Johnson visited the class.

Gronkowski is still recovering from a broken forearm sustained during the Patriots' blowout win over the Indianapolis Colts.
