Revere man arraigned on child porn charges in Suffolk Superior

REVERE (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A 62-year-old Revere man was arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court on child pornography charges Thursday.

Steven Bell pleaded not guilty to seven counts of possession of child pornography and one count of dissemination of child pornography.

Bell's arrest stems from a September investigation into a computer that was offering known child pornography images to other Internet users. The computer was reportedly traced back to Bell's home in Revere.

Mass. State Police executed a search warrant at Bell's home on Nov. 1. They claim to have found over 5,000 images and video files containing child pornography. Bell was arrested and arraigned in Chelsea District Court before being indicted by a Suffolk County Grand Jury on Nov. 29.

Bell's bail was set at $25,000. Judge Gary Wilson ordered Bell to have no unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18, refrain from using the Internet, and wear a GPS monitor. The 62-year-old must also not leave the state without permission from the court.

Bell will be back in court on Feb. 6 for a pre-trial conference.
