Revere man accused of charging into Southie apartment, attacking resident

BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A 25-year-old Revere man was arrested early Friday morning after a home invasion in South Boston.

Boston Police say the incident occurred just after 12:30 a.m. on Harvest Terrace. The victim told police that he heard someone banging on a door at a lower floor apartment. He adds that when opened the door, a man with a black jacket covering his face charged at him and a fight ensued.

The victim was able to force the man back into the hall where the man then fell down a flight of stairs and ran away. He left behind the black Adidas jacket that he used to cover his face.

During a search of the area, police found 25-year-old Erick Lopez attempting to climb a fence just a few blocks from the scene. Police say the victim identified Lopez as his attacker.

Lopez was charged with home invasion and assault and battery. He was held on bail following his arraignment on Friday afternoon.
