Report says Mass. has 9th worst drug problem

Four New England states are among the worst in the country for dug abuse, according to a new study.

WalletHub looked at drug use and addiction, law enforcement's drug arrest and drug health issues and rehabilitation to come up with the list.

Vermont ranked number 2, Rhode Island fifth, Massachusetts ninth and New Hampshire 11th out of 50 states plus Washington, D.C.

According to the data, Rhode Island has the fifth highest number of teenage drug users, Massachusetts has the fifth highest percentage of adults with unmet drug treatment needs, and Connecticut has the most people receiving substance abuse treatment per 100,000 drug users.
