BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – Red Sox owner John Henry is among at least six others who have submitted bids to buy The Boston Globe.
According to the Globe, Henry's group as well as former Time Inc. CEO Jack Griffin and two members of the Taylor Family submitted bids before Thursday's 5 p.m. deadline.
Other bidders include the founder of Revolution Capital Group, John J. Gormally, Jr. of Gormally Broadcasting in Springfield and Boston attorney Shannon Liss-Riordan.
In February the Globe's parent company, New York Times Co. announced it was seeking bids for the Boston newspaper.
Bob Kraft's group, which was previously reported to be bidding on the Globe, had withdrawn from the bidding, the Globe reported.
