Report: Bobby out, Pedro in at TBS after 9/11 comment

NEW YORK, NY (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Former Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine has reportedly been overlooked for a job with TBS during the MLB playoffs after a controversial comment about the Yankees on Sept. 11.

Newsday cites two sources familiar with the deal in a report claiming Valentine's comment on a New York radio station was what led to the decision. Valentine said, "You couldn't find a Yankee down at Ground Zero, talking to the guys who were working 24/7."

A spokesperson for the network told Newsday that Valentine was "one of a number of candidates being considered for the role." TBS ultimately chose former Sox pitcher Pedro Martinez and Tom Verducci to work alongside Keith Olbermann in the TBS studio during the playoffs.
