Reid Overpass in Cambridge to be closed for six months for repairs

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A bridge that carries Memorial Drive over the rotary at the BU Bridge in Cambridge will be closed for six months to allow for structural repairs.

The Mass. Dept. of Transportation is planning on closing Reid Overpass on April 7. The bridge will be closed to all vehicles, as well as to cyclists and pedestrians in both the eastbound and westbound directions.

All vehicles will be diverted to the surface roadways and through the BU Bridge/Brookline Street rotary, and back on to Memorial Drive.

Preliminary work will begin on March 31 and will include the installation of advance warning signage for the upcoming closure.
