Red Sox broadcaster's son due in court in killing

WOBURN, Mass. (AP) - The son of Red Sox broadcaster and former second baseman Jerry Remy is facing arraignment in Superior Court on a murder charge in the death of his girlfriend.

Jared Remy has already pleaded not guilty in District Court in the stabbing death of Jennifer Martel. He was indicted late last month, so the case now moves to Superior Court. His arraignment there is scheduled for Tuesday.

Remy is accused of repeatedly stabbing Martel at a Waltham apartment complex on Aug. 15. Authorities say he was covered in blood when they arrested him at the scene.

After his son was arrested in Martel's killing, Jerry Remy announced he wouldn't return to the broadcast booth this season. He said he was "full of grief" for Martel's family.
