Python has new life after being found at Brockton bus stop

BROCKTON, Mass. — A baby ball python has had quite the journey after being found along the side of the road.

Amber Castenda said she was at the bus stop when all of a sudden she saw the python not moving and hard to the touch.

"When I first found him he wasn't moving at all so I just scooped him up in a sweat shirt and brought him home,” she told FOX25.

At first, Castenda said she was going to keep the snake, until it escaped.

“He got loose in my house. He was under the table and I called Gerard and he said just to throw a towel over him,” she said.

Gerard Toppa saw Castenda’s post on Facebook asking for help, and jumped in to assist.

“She said ‘I don't know what to do with the snake.’ I said I'll take him,” he said.

Toppa has three other reptiles and said he can’t wait for his children to meet the newest addition.

"You keep it fed. They won't attack the kids. The kids don't hurt them and the kids love them,” he said.
