Puppy Doe trial resumes Monday

DEDHAM, Mass. — The so-called ‘Puppy Doe’ trial will resume Monday.

Last week, jurors heard from doctors who treated the dog after it had been severely injured.

Prosecutors said Radoslaw Czerkawski responded to a Craigslist ad for a pit bull puppy, picking her up from a Worcester home in June 2013.

Authorities said the dog was found just two months later in Quincy with injuries that were so severe that she needed to be put down.

After the trial’s first full week in court, prosecutors said that Czerkawski abused the puppy and lied to police about it.

The trial is expected to last for about two weeks.
