Providence cops want strip club closed

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Police in Providence want to close a strip club after a missing 15-year-old girl from Boston was found dancing there.

The Providence Journal reports Tuesday that the department is working to revoke the business licenses that allows Cheaters Gentleman's Club to operate.

Last week police found the underage girl dancing at the club during an investigation into the trafficking of young girls from Massachusetts to Providence to work as strippers and prostitutes.

A representative of Cheaters told the newspaper that the girl had presented identification that said she was 21.

Authorities charged 51-year-old Troy Footman with sex trafficking after they found him with the underage girl at the club. Police say a second 15-year-old Massachusetts girl was found at a Seekonk motel room where Footman was staying.
