Prosecutors will not have Ortiz testify against Hernandez

FALL RIVER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Prosecutors will not have Carlos Ortiz testify against Aaron Hernandez during the trial, according to documents filed Friday.

Prosecutors say that Ortiz, 27, is unreliable and therefore will not call him to testify against Hernandez. Ortiz is a codefendant charged with accessory to murder after the fact in the Odin Lloyd case.

Ortiz was arrested last summer in Bristol, Connecticut and told police that Hernandez, 24, and Ernest Wallace, 44, were out of their car when Lloyd was shot five times in North Attleborough. Ortiz said he was asleep when he heard a gunshot and then saw Hernandez and Wallace get back in their car.

Ortiz later changed his story and said that Hernandez was alone with Lloyd outside of the car.
