Prosecutor: Suspect in Billerica gas station robbery has criminal history

BILLERICA, Mass. — Two people were in court Tuesday facing charges connected to an armed robbery at a gas station in Billerica.

Police released video showing the entire hold-up at the Petrolex on Chelmsford Road in Billerica early Sunday morning.

The video shows a robber pulling a gun on the clerk and demanding money.

The clerk, Ibrahim Jameel, handed it over then another employee called police.

Police said two other gas station robberies with similarly described suspects occurred through Monday morning in Billerica and Tewksbury.

After an investigation, police arrested 60-year-old Michael Girouard, of Billerica.

The clerk told Boston 25 News about the moment the robber pulled the gun out of his waistband.

“He said, ‘Alright.’ He pulled a gun, pointed at me and he said, ‘Give me all you got,’” Jameel said. “At that moment I felt like he was going to shoot me, but thank God he did not.”

In court Tuesday, a judge allowed Girouard to shield his face and not appear on camera to protect his identity.

In court, prosecutors described Girouard's criminal history which includes robberies and other property crimes.

“He’s had criminal activity in Nevada, Florida and New Hampshire as well as Massachusetts,” Assistant District Attorney Gabrielle Lomanno said.

Girouard was found in a vehicle of interest Nichole Donlon, who is also facing charges related to the robbery.

“[Donlon] stated that Mr. Girouard returned to her car with a silver revolver firearm in his hand yelling ‘go, go, go’ as she drove away. He was carrying a white plastic bag with Newport and Marlboro red cigarettes inside as well as a large amount of cash,” Lomanno said.

An attorney for Girouard questioned the police department's methods saying they held him until there was a reason to charge him.

Girouard and Donlon both pleaded not guilty and are due back in court next month,
