Profile pegs Deval Patrick for possible 2020 presidential bid

BOSTON — It appears former President Barack Obama's inner circle is urging Deval Patrick to run for president in 2020.

According to a cover story on Politico Magazine Tuesday morning, the former Massachusetts governor is their number one choice.

The article claims Mr. Obama strategist David Axelrod and his close advisor Valerie Jarret have had several conversations with Patrick about running.

He thinks Patrick would be a “natural” in the primary states of Iowa, South Carolina, and New Hampshire.

So far, Patrick hasn’t commented about his plans.

He is currently working for Bain Capital in Boston.
