• Polling company tracks Senate race, Sox manager's popularity

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Red Sox manager John Farrell is apparently more well-liked in Boston than the first president of the United States and Kris Kringle.

Public Policy Polling, a national polling company based in North Carolina, took to Twitter Friday to put Farrell's popularity to numbers. The group says Farrell boasts a 1-percent disapproval rating.

    "To put John Farrell's 1% disapproval in context- George Washington's is 3%, Mother Theresa's [sic] 5%, Ghandi's 9%, Santa's 13%," tweeted the polling company.

Public Policy Polling is also keeping a close eye on the special election for U.S. Senate. They suggest Democratic Congressman Ed Markey holds a 4-point lead over his Republican competitor, Gabriel Gomez. The company notes, however, that Gomez is up by 16 among Independents and winning 21-percent of Democrats.
