(MyFoxBoston.com) - During daylight hours, the surface of the planet Mercury can reach over 600 degrees Fahrenheit. That's also the same temperature at which Teflon will melt.
It's a myth that Teflon was developed for NASA. It was used by NASA because it can tolerate the temperature extremes of earth orbit and the moon's surface. It was not needed for its more popular attribute: a non-stick cooking surface.
I'm beginning to think that Governor Deval Patrick could survive in space without the requisite protective suit. Tonight, on FOX 25 News at 10 p.m., I'll explain in detail my reasons for naming him, "The Teflon governor."
