Police: Man used cleaning business to make 'secret recordings'

YARMOUTH, Mass. — A New Bedford man has been arrested for the second time in separate ‘upskirting’ incidents, according to the police department.

David Anthony Wong, 50, was previously arrested in August 2017 for sexual crimes, police said.

However, he was re-arrested in January 5 after he had been released on bail from the previous charges.

Investigators say they turned up evidence of “numerous other incidents of upskirting (taking photos or video from under a woman's skirt) and other secret recordings.”

Warrants for computers and electronic devices revealed the evidence Wong’s secret recordings are “tied to him working as a self-employed cleaner … in Falmouth and Rhode Island.”

Police say he was tracked down by the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force in New Bedford.

Police say they anticipate additional charges, “Mr. Wong had been hired to clean hundreds of homes and businesses throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.”
