Police: women caught in the act at Sears

SPRINGFIELD (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Two females were arrested on Monday after they were reportedly caught transferring clearance price tags to dresses that were not on sale.

Pebbles Stevens, 22, of Hampden, Conn. and Julie Lee, 48, of Glenolden, Penn., were arraigned on shoplifting charges on Tuesday in Springfield District Court.

Police in Springfield responded to the Sears located at 1585 Boston Road around 5 p.m. after security caught the females removing clearance price tags off of dresses that were marked way down to higher prices dresses that were not on sale. The women then attempted to purchase several $100 dresses for $23 each.

The women were detained at the register and brought to the security office where they were arrested.
