Police: Weymouth woman arrested for assaulting couple on train

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Police have arrested the woman wanted in connection with an assault on a couple and their child that took place at the MBTA Broadway station on Sunday.

Transit Police issued an arrest warrant for 43-year-old AnnMarie Tessier, of Weymouth, on Tuesday and took her into custody later that day.

Tessier and 43-year-old Joseph Pacheco are accused of assaulting a couple and their young daughter with a beer bottle around 6 p.m. on Sunday.

The couple told police that it all started when the male victim refused to give Pacheco a cigarette. The female victim also asked Pacheco to back away because he was leaning over the child's stroller.

Pacheco and Tessier began assaulting the female victim, and then directed their efforts at the male victim when he attempted to intervene.

Tessier is being charged with assault with a deadly weapon and assault and battery.

Pacheco pleaded not guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery in South Boston District Court Monday.
