Police warn residents in Leicester, Paxton of driver taking photos of children

LEICESTER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Police are warning residents about reports of a suspicious driver taking photos of children in Leicester and Paxton.

Leicester police say they received an initial report on May 8 about a black sedan pulling up in front of a home on Lake View Drive at about 5:45 p.m. and taking a photo while the homeowner's daughter was playing in the front yard.

A second incident was reported Tuesday by a Park Lane resident. The resident reported a small black car took photos of three children playing in front of a home on the street at about 5 p.m.

Investigators in Leicester also received a report from a Paxton resident about a similar incident Wednesday. The resident says a driver in a small black car took photos of her home last week. There were no children outside at the time of the incident, but there were toys in the front yard.

Leicester police say the car involved is believed to be a black compact vehicle, possibly with dark colored rims, and a spoiler on the trunk. Residents are asked to contact police if they see this car in their neighborhood. Police say it is important to note the person or people involved are not wanted for a crime. Investigators hope to speak to them to determine why they are taking the photos.
