Police: Walpole man attacked 3 women at MBTA stop

BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A Walpole man is accused of attacking three women over the weekend at an MBTA station.

Francis Cocuzzo, 40, was taken into custody Saturday night at the Ruggles Station. He was scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Roxbury District Court on assault and battery charges.

Police say Cocuzzo pushed a woman at Ruggles Station and then assaulted two other women when they came to help the first victim. Cocuzzo allegedly grabbed one of the women by her jacket, restraining her against the bus and punching her body repeatedly.

According to police, Cocuzzo then ripped a necklace the victim was wearing off her neck and placed it into his pocket.  A third female victim attempted to stop Cucuzzo from his violent assault, but he kicked her in the thigh area.

As transit police officers were placing Cocuzzo under arrest, he tried to spit at them and resisted being handcuffed, police said.

All the victims were examined on scene by Boston EMS and then released.
