Police to block neighborhood traffic at Xfinity center Saturday night

MANSFIELD, Mass. — Mansfield will roll out its new plan to stop traffic heading through neighborhoods near the Xfinity Center Saturday evening.

Earlier this year, frustrated neighbors voiced concerns about traffic flooding the side streets on concert days.

Police now plan to put a road block on South Main Street before Saturday night’s Luke Bryan concert.

Traffic coming through the neighborhoods will then be diverted back onto the Interstate, where drivers will have to head north, before being looped back on southbound to exit for the Xfinity Center.

They hope the roadblock will be reported on traffic apps like Waze and keep them from diverting drivers through residential streets.
