Police: Suspect stole $1,500 cash from Hingham business

HINGHAM, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Police in Hingham are searching for a man they said stole more than $1,000 cash from a North Street office.

An employee from the business told police a man was inside their North Street office near Cottage Street at about 12:59 p.m. Thursday. When the employee asked what the man was doing, the suspect said he was looking for someone; however, no one by the name he gave worked at the business.

The employee followed the man as he left the business and proceeded passed the bus stop on Station Street and passed the Fruit Center, police said. The employee then called police.

Approximately $1,500 in cash was missing from the office, the employee told police.

The suspect was described as white and in his 40s. He was approximately 6'1", 220 pounds with brown hair with a receding hair line. The employee also said the man has a chipped or noticeably discolored tooth.

The incident remains under investigation.
