Police: Suspect in NH burglary greeted victim before fleeing

MANCHESTER, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Police in Manchester, N.H. are searching for a male suspect accused of breaking into a home on Spruce Street Monday morning.

Officers responded to the home at about 8:30 a.m. for a report of a burglary in progress.

Upon arrival, a 28-year-old female told police she was inside the second floor bedroom when she heard someone ascending the stairs. She told police her husband had left for work a short time beforehand, so she assumed he had forgotten something and returned.

However, instead of her husband, an unidentified man entered the room, she said. The victim asked the suspect what he was doing and he responded with a brief greeting before suddenly fleeing the apartment.

Following an investigation, it appears the suspect forced entry through a rear door. Once inside, he stole a wallet and an iPod touch from the victim's purse

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s, about 5'8" tall with a slim build and light-colored, strawberry blonde hair. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt or sweater and a black backpack.
