Police: Stoughton man charged after hitting boy, 7, with car

STOUGHTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A 36-year-old Stoughton man is facing a motor vehicle charge after he struck a young boy while driving on Canton Street Wednesday evening, police said.

Marcio Calixto will be charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle for the crash which sent a 7-year-old boy to the hospital via medical helicopter, reports the Stoughton Patch.

The boy sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries. He allegedly came running out of a wooded area in the vicinity of O'Donnell Middle School and the side of the car hit the boy.

The crash remains under investigation.
