Police: Men surrender after standoff in Revere home

REVERE, Mass. — A number of people barricaded themselves in a Revere home after reported gunshots early Sunday morning, police said.

Around 5 a.m. several gunshots inside the home were reported to police, who showed up to find six people barricaded inside the home on Francis Street.

Just over four hours later, police said the men had surrendered to officers and the scene was all clear. Residents had been asked to avoid the area during the standoff.

At least two men were taken into custody by police after surrendering. Police say six people were in the apartment when they arrived, but four immediately came out of the apartment.

Another eventually came out with his hands up, before officers threw gas into a window to clear the last man out of the apartment.

The first floor was evacuated shortly after police arrived. No injuries were reported.
