BROOKLINE (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Police have arrested three individuals in connection with a package which contained four to five pounds of marijuana.
A police detective received a call from an officer of the Sacramento California Drug Task Force who informed him that a package containing marijuana had been sent to a tenant of 33 Freeman Street on Oct. 17.
Officers responded to the address and were told by the front desk security officer that the package was originally sent to someone who was not a tenant of the building, but was picked up by suspects who are residents of the building.
Police arrested the two suspects who claimed the package. One of the suspects was charged with possession with intent to distribute within a park zone while the other suspect was charged with intent to distribute and three outstanding warrants.
A third suspect turned himself into the police and will be charged with possession with intent to distribute.
Police executed a search warrant at the Freeman Street apartment and discovered $117,000 of cash and 10 to 15 pounds of marijuana.
