Police seek one-legged tire slasher in Southborough

SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Southborough police are seeking a distinct-looking man who is wanted for vandalism in the town.

On Sunday night, during the Super Bowl, police were called to Owen O'Leary's Restaurant and Pub in Southborough for a report of vandalism.

Staff at the restaurant said the incident started when a customer was refused service and asked to leave the bar, according to police. Soon afterwards, an employee at the bar noticed the same man slashing tires of cars in the parking lot.

Before police officers arrived, the man left in what was described as a large, blue, "ice cream style" truck.

The man, who police say slashed the tires on more than seven cars, is described as white, 6-feet, 8-inches tall, with only one leg. He also speaks with a Southern accent, according to police.

According to the Metro West Daily News, police drove up and down the area of Rte. 9 looking in parking lots for the truck, but did not find a vehicle matching the given description.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect or the vandalism is asked to call Southborough police Detective Sean McCarthy at (508) 485-2121.
