Police searching for 2 men after Hanson home invasion

HANSON, Mass. — Police in Hanson, Mass. are searching for two people near Main and Liberty Streets and into Pembroke.

A source tells FOX25 that around 10:30 a.m., a home in the 200 block of Main Street was invaded and possibly robbed.

Four people were seen leaving the area and local elementary schools were put on a shelter-in-place alert for several hours.

Two suspects from Brockton were taken into custody and the lockdown was lifted, but police say they are still searching for two additional people.

“Hanson officers apprehended one of the individuals immediately. He was armed, which obviously caused us great concern. These schools, although not directly nearby, were advised to shelter in place as a precaution only,” Hanson Police Chief Michael Miksch said.

Police tell FOX25 a woman was inside the home at the time of the invasion, she was able to get out and call 911. When officers arrived the men were on the front lawn with items from inside the home.

The area of Main Street was closed down for several hours, but reopened by 5 p.m.

It is unclear at this point why the specific home was targeted. Police said they are investigating if this is connected to recent break-ins in the neighboring town of Pembroke.

The two men arrested have been identified as Andrew Jorge, 31, and Anthony Marcelino, 22.
