Police searching for suspect after armed robbery at Newton gas station

NEWTON, Mass. — Police in Newton are searching for a man they say robbed a gas station with a large gun and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robbery happened around 9 p.m. Tuesday, and police still have not found the suspect.

Fazal Azim was working at the Gulf on Beacon Street when the robbery happened, and he told FOX25 that even though there was a gun pointed in his face, the man was polite.

“Can you open the register please?" the man can be heard saying on surveillance video.

Police haven't told Azim if they have any leads on the case, so he's hoping someone recognizes the man from footage of the robbery.

The robber is described as a man around 5 feet 8 inches tall with a white bandana over his face. At the time of the robbery he was wearing green pants and a gray jacket.
