MERRIMACK, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Police are searching for a bronze emblem that was recently stolen from a veterans' memorial.
The 2-foot by 2-foot emblem weighs more than 100 pounds, and was stolen some time in the last two weeks, police said.
The emblem has the words "Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States" on it and was hanging on the Memorial Wall outside of VFW Post 8641 at 282 Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack, N.H.
Police estimate that the emblem would cost $2,000 to replace. "Help us return the seal to its home in remembrance of all those who fought and died for this country!" officers posted on the department's Facebook page.
