Police search for suspect in Middleborough double stabbing

MIDDLEBOROUGH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Two men sustained life-threatening stab wounds on Christmas day in Middleborough and police are searching for the suspect.

Police are investigating a double stabbing that happened on Dec. 25 at 3:10 a.m. at an apartment on Main Street. Two men Matthew Carreiro, 35, and Davin Gordon, 31, suffered from life-threatening stab wounds. Both were transported to the hospital.

Before being stabbed, the victims were at a party and became involved in an altercation with John Barsell, 52. Barsell stabbed the two victims and fled. Police were unable to locate the suspect.

Barsell is now wanted for two counts of attempted murder and three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He is described as a stocky, white male who is about 5'10" and weighs approximately 200 to 215 pounds. He has gray hair and neck tattoos.
