Police search for Hingham bank robber

HINGHAM, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man accused of robbing a bank in Hingham.

Investigators say a white man in his 30s robbed the Rockland Trust Bank on William B. Terry Drive Friday at about 4 p.m.

The suspect reportedly showed the teller a note before telling her he had a gun and threatening to kill her. The teller handed money to him and he fled the building.

No weapon was displayed during the incident. The suspect was last seen running toward the side of the building next to Route 3A.

The robber had some facial hair and is described has having a thin build. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a "scully-type" hat with sunglasses resting on his head, a dark zip-up hooded jacket, a white shirt, dark sweatpants, and white sneakers.
