CHELSEA, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Police in Chelsea were looking for the driver of a car involved in a hit-and-run Monday evening.
Police said a 57-year-old man was hit in front of 242 Washington Ave. at about 7:29 p.m.
Witnesses told police the man was struck as he attempted to cross the street by a dark, two-door sedan. The sedan may have been green. One witness told police the vehicle sped off immediately at a high rate of speed after the crash.
Police said the vehicle may have sustained front-end and possible windshield damage as a result of the incident.
The victim was taken to Mass. General Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
