Police release sketch of man who tried to attack jogger in Carlisle

CARLISLE, Mass. — Police in the quiet town of Carlisle have released a sketch of a man who they said tried to assault a female jogger.

According to police, the woman said she had just completed her run at Great Brook State Park around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday when an unidentified man surrounded her car and tried to force his way inside.

"When he stood behind her car in a position that would not allow her to back up without hitting him, that really called her attention to it," Carlisle Police Chief John Fisher said.

The victim described the person as a dark-skinned white or Hispanic male around 40 years old. He was wearing green outerwear and an American flag bandana with light-colored gloves that didn’t have fingertips.

"Attempting to assault someone is the same as assaulting them, and from my description I'm sure you can probably gather she was alarmed, and he did commit a crime," Fisher said.

Anyone who recognizes the man in the suspect or may have seen anything in suspicious in the area is asked to call the Carlisle Police Department at 978-369-1155.
