Police release sketch of man who impersonated officer, assaulted woman

WAREHAM, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Police in Wareham have released a sketch of a man they said impersonated a police officer and assaulted a woman on Saturday.

Police said the man was driving a dark truck or SUV and flashed a blue light at a woman while she was driving on Main Street around 9 p.m.

The woman told police that the man approached the car and told her she had a defective tail light. Police said the woman suspected the man was not an officer and started to drive away.

When she was pulling away, the man reportedly hit her in the face with a flashlight.

The man is described as approximately five feet eight inches tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds. He is described as about 40 years old, with a pronounced Adam's apple and dark hair.
