Police: Pedestrian killed after callers report man in middle of Route 95

BURLINGTON, Mass. — A person was hit and killed by a car on Route 95 north in Burlington early Sunday morning, according to Massachusetts State Police.

Police say drivers called to report a man in the middle of the Route 95 near exit 34 waving his hands shortly after 3:00 a.m.

It was about 3:35 a.m. when state police were called to the scene after the person was hit. The incident was reported by the driver who said he hit a pedestrian.

Burlington police got to the scene first and said the person was dead when they got there.

The 39-year-old Malden man who called it in told police he hit the person, who was then hit by another car driven by a 22-year-old N.H. man.

Police say both drivers stayed on scene and cooperated with the police investigation.
