Police: Patient arrested for attacking Elliot Hospital staff members

MANCHESTER, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A 33-year-old patient of Elliot Hospital was arrested Monday for attacking two members of the hospital staff, police said.

Ansel Kinglocke, of Manchester, has been charged with first degree assault and simple assault for the incident which occurred at about 11:10 a.m. in the psychiatric evaluation area of the emergency department.

Police in Manchester received a call from Elliot Hospital reporting two staff members had been attacked, and one of them had received serious injuries on the face and head.

When officers arrived, hospital security already had the suspect under strict supervision.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

FULL STATEMENT FROM ELIOT HOSPITAL:

"Today, two members of the Elliot Hospital staff were assaulted by a patient in the psychiatric evaluation area of the emergency department. We are deeply saddened by this event and our collective thoughts and prayers are with our colleagues and their families as they recover from today's tragic events.

The Manchester Police do have the individual in custody and there is no threat from this individual to the staff, our patients and the community.

We are also deeply grateful for the rapid response and action by our trauma team."
