Police: Pair hides out in Saugus Macy's, steals merchandise

SAUGUS, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Police in Saugus are searching for two women who are accused of hiding out in a Macy's until closing time and stealing merchandise from the department store.

According to Wicked Local Saugus, a Macy's employee reported the theft at the Square One Mall on July 27.

Officers reviewed security footage which showed the women leaving the store with a large shopping bag at about 11 p.m. on July 26.

Police said they believe pair hid in the store until closing and then made their move.

Saugus Police Assistant Chief Ronald Giorgetti told the site if apprehended the suspects could face larceny, breaking and entering, and trespassing charges.
